Fusion Chords

The special sound of most Fusion players like Alan Holdsworth is partly a matter of the chords they use. That are either chords that are really wide or chords that have a whole or half step in them. Both sounds really interesting, but the chords are kinda hard to fret.

Here is an example of a chord progression that contains whole and half step chords. The whole and half steps are marked, so even if you can't read staff, you will be able to see them.

The volume swell in this example is achived with a volume pedal.

The next example demonstrats the use of very wide chords, that means the intervals between the notes of the chords are pretty wide.
